Winter Will-writing Offer South Hams CAB

Winter Will-writing Offer

Research suggests that nearly 60% of us have never gotSWLAw round to preparing a valid will.  This new year why  not seize the opportunity to do so now?  Citizens Advice South Hams announces a new partnership with SWLaw Solicitors, Ivybridge, who can prepare a simple Will for free during January and February 2016 in return for a donation to Citizens Advice South Hams.  A simple will is usually charged at £150 + VAT.

“It is really important to make a will. Otherwise, the government can end up deciding what happens to your assets,” says Janie Moor, manager at South Hams Citizens Advice. “We are really grateful to SWLaw for this generous and valuable offer. We are experiencing a surge in demand for our services so donations from the public will be very much appreciated.  Many people still believe Citizens Advice is a statutory government-funded organisation rather than a charity reliant on donations and fund-raising,” she added.

SWLaw is also offering free initial consultations on other legal issues. The practice is broadly-based, working in most areas of law. Those interested will need to be referred by Citizens Advice. As a first step, please call Citizens Advice’s Devon Adviceline on 03444 111 444 for an assessment.

Citizens Advice South Hams, one of more than 300 local branches of Citizens Advice, received more than 7,000 enquiries in the 12 months to October, up from 6,780 in the 12 months to March. Benefits remain the leading enquiry area, followed by employment, housing and debt.

To make an appointment to write a Will, please call Alice or David at SWLaw on 01752 205202.  Please note that any complex additional will clauses would incur charges which will be quoted for at your appointment before the work takes place.
