Ideas for Fundraising
Here are just a few ideas to raise funds, there are lots of other ways and variations. If you need any help or promotional material (posters, bunting we can send you digital versions to print off). FOOD AND DRINK
Morning Coffee/ Afternoon Tea – in your own home/garden, invite friends and neighbours, perhaps include a raffle
Office bakes- ask permission first, put up posters and sell cakes during tea breaks and lunchtime
Cake Stalls – join in an existing fair or fete
Barbecue – invite friends and neighbours for either a day time or evening event in your garden
Dinner Party – either a one off or get a group together, take it in turns to cook and make a donation, perhaps link in one of the games or a murder mystery
Wine and Cheese – as above but on a smaller scale
SPORT and EXERCISE
Running – join in with organised runs/marathons and ask for sponsorship
Ramble – get a group together for a mass walk somewhere interesting, could be combined with a dog walk
Aerobics – organise an aerobathon or zumbathon
Cricket /Football Match – get a team together, village or workplace based and challenge another group, ask a local company to donate a cup

Parachute Jump – not for the faint hearted
Raft/Canoe Race – they usually take place regularly, look out for local adverts
Darts Match – perhaps for cold winter evenings in the pub whilst planning one of the above
FAMILY EVENTS
Board Games – gather all your old board games together and either enjoy with friends or teach the younger generation how to play Monopoly, Cluedo, Battleships, Checkers etc.
Bingo – either one off or as a regular event
Fancy Dress – perhaps link this in with another activity
Duck Race – sell plastic ducks and race them from a bridge
Face Painting – get hold of some face paints and get creative
It’s a Knock Out – silly games in silly costumes
Beat the Goalie – pay to enter and the best player wins a prize
Game Show – recreate your favourite show
SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Burns Night – 25th Jan, celebrates Robert Burns birthday, sell haggis, swedes, potatoes, whisky
Pancake Day – or Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, depends when Easter is but it always falls in February or March
Easter Egg Hunt – hide different size eggs which act as prizes and charge to take part
Halloween Party – 31st Oct, dress up, create weird food and be as scary as possible
Fireworks – 5th Nov, safety, safety, safety charge to view and sell hot snacks and drinks
Christmas Carol Concert – sell tickets and make extra by selling mince pies and mulled wine
ART
Art and Craft Exhibition – organise an exhibition for local artists/craftspeople and charge commission on items sold
One off sale – if you are an artist who exhibits, perhaps you could donate the proceeds of one of your works to Citizens Advice, either as a one off sale or by silent auction
MISC
Pub Quizzes – a lot of pubs run these and are open to them being taken over for the occasional charity evening or you could start one up, questions can be found on line
As New Sale – posh jumble sale, could be combined with tea/coffee events or a wine and cheese evening
Book Sale – left over books could be donated to charity shops
Car Boot Sale – either start one or join in with an organised one
Car Washing – would make you very popular with your neighbours
Auction of Promises/Services – ask for pledges, e.g. singing lessons, dinner for two, works best if combined with a larger event
Murder Mystery – get a group together, dress up, think Agatha Christie and have fun
