Citizens Advice expands service in Dartmouth

Citizens Advice South Hams has increased its service to Dartmouth residents by providing a Specialist Advisor on Tuesday afternoons in the Mayor’s Avenue Clinic.  The weekly Tuesday morning drop in sessions will continue but any resident who requires more in-depth help will be given an appointment with the Advisor; those that need more intensive ongoing help will be supported on a casework basis.

This has been made possible by a grant from Dartmouth United Charities who are dedicated to helping organisations and charities provide services to local residents who are vulnerable, disadvantaged or find themselves in difficult financial circumstances.

Janie Moor, Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Advice South Hams, said: “We are delighted that funding from Dartmouth United Charities will enable us to provide ongoing casework to support clients with complex issues and really help them move forward with their lives. I would urge anyone struggling with debt, housing, disabilities, benefit entitlement, work or relationship issues to come along for a chat.

We often see people that have been struggling for some time and require more help than we can offer through our regular drop-in service, although that will remain the first point of contact for anyone seeking advice.”

The local advice charity provides free, independent, confidential and impartial help.  The drop-in sessions on Tuesdays at the Dartmouth Clinic in Mayor’s Avenue run from 9.30-12.30, the new Advisor sessions will run directly afterwards but require appointments.

South Hams residents can also access advice from Citizens Advice South Hams by visiting their website southhamscab.org.uk and typing their query into the search bar, if they can’t resolve their problem then they should call their Adviceline on  03 444 111 444.

Your
Feedback

I found the staff of Citizens Advice South Hams to be very understanding and helpful. I was so worried that without your help I could not have resolved the issue alone, I am so grateful for the help I received.
